Google has been working on different features and tools for Search to help users find the right information. The search engine giant is now working on a new feature for Search that will make it easier for users to find the recipes without actually having to skim through multiple websites to find them.
What is this new feature?
The feature in question is an improvement to the Search results called Quick View for cooking recipes where searching for a recipe returns the full recipe right at the top. It’s more like Searching for flights, calculator, etc.
As a part of this feature, Google will return users with a complete recipe for a dish they want to cook. This reduces users’ efforts of clicking multiple websites to find the right recipe. That’s not it. The result will also include a full list of ingredients, photos and step-by-step instructions without clicking on any website link from the search result.
There’s a catch
Currently, the feature is in the testing phase and it appears that Google is collaborating with third-party recipe sites to deliver this feature. Right now, that’s pretty limited and not all recipes are available in Quick View.
However, we think this will improve over time as more content providers get on board.
What’s in it for users
As explained, the feature is aimed at offering easy access to the recipes and having the option to all the details related to a recipe right at the top with the Quick View feature is something very handy, especially when you are planning to cook something at home.
Do note that the feature is in the testing phase and might take a white before it gets rolled out to a wider audience.
