Google’s Chromecast TV dongles have been popular as small streaming sticks in the last decade. However, it seems that Google is moving away from them. According to a new report by 9To5Google, a new streaming device called ‘Google TV Streamer,’ is reportedly in the works.

The report further shares some images of this upcoming streaming device, where we can see an oval-shaped design, similar to any normal set-top box, and a new remote. Further, the elongated device has a relatively small base and resembles a small Pixel Tablet Charging Speaker Dock. It also has power and HDMI cables at the back.

The ‘Google TV Streamer’ by the looks of it can be placed beneath the TV and may support the Ultra-Wideband-powered Tap to Cast feature, which we also saw with last year’s Google Pixel Tablet. The image renders also reveal a new remote, which is longer than the one on the previous Chromecast dongles.

It features a D-Pad with back and home buttons, a microphone button for voice input, and a home key button with bold coloring. The volume rocker is now on the front, and a mute button has also been added to this new remote. The report also states that there will be dedicated shortcut buttons for YouTube and Netflix apps, with a new ‘Magic’ button.
