Google Search AI Mode now available in India: Here’s how you can start using it today

Google has officially introduced AI Mode in India, marking a significant evolution in how users interact with Search. First launched as an experiment in the U.S. and later previewed at Google I/O 2025, AI Mode brings Google’s most advanced AI search experience yet to Indian users—starting today, as an experiment via Labs in English.

What is AI Mode?
AI Mode leverages a custom version of Gemini 2.5 and Google’s proprietary query fan-out technique to handle complex, multi-part queries. Instead of typing multiple search terms separately, users can now ask nuanced or layered questions in a single go and receive a comprehensive, AI-powered summary with relevant links for deeper exploration. Early testers have used 2–3 times longer queries than traditional search, confirming its utility for planning, comparisons, and detailed how-to queries.
