Google, please borrow this new Microsoft Edge location sharing feature for Chrome

Until now, web browsers on PC had only two options for location permission – on or off. And, that’s it. Once you grant the location permission to a particular website, it will have it always – unless you manually deny it. That’s no longer the case – at least if you are a Microsoft Edge user.

Location sharing is one of the most crucial data for apps and websites to offer several services and also to showcase local content depending upon your query. For instance, if you are browsing for a Google website, the location access makes it go to the India website automatically or redirects it in case you land in some other country. That said, it isn’t as simple as it looks. Advertisers and marketing companies rely on this data to offer curated ads and recommendations depending upon your other data.

Until now, web browsers on PC had only two options for location permission – on or off. And, that’s it. Once you grant the location permission to a particular website, it will have it always – unless you manually deny it.

That’s no longer the case – at least if you are a Microsoft Edge user.

Edge has this new “Just This Time” option now for location permission popup that lets users allow the permission one-time only and it gets disabled once you close the tab. It asks again if you open the website or access that service again.
