Google is all set to announce its next-generation Pixel smartphones – Pixel 9 series – on August 13 at its Made by Google event. The lineup, as per leaks and rumours, is expected to include four smartphones – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, it appears that Google is only planning to bring the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in India.

An official banner on Flipkart suggests that Google will not launch the vanilla version of the Pixel 9 in India. While the lineup includes three smartphones, only the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will launch in India.

The Flipkart banner also suggests that Google will launch the phone in India on August 14, a day after the global unveiling. We don’t have the clarity as of now about the sale dates. We expect the phone will go on pre-orders first.
Pixel 9 series: What we know so far
Based on the official teasers, the Pixel 9 series is expected to come with a refined design. The phone’s camera housing appears to be a bit more rounded than before. In addition to this, the entire lineup is speculated to be powered by the new Tensor G4 chipset paired with up to 16GB RAM.
Also, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be the first foldable smartphone from Google to launch in India. As per leaks, the foldable smartphone is expected to feature a 6.3-inch cover display and an 8-inch foldable panel.
In terms of camera, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold is speculated to come with a triple rear camera setup. However, the sensors will be different. The Pixel 9 Pro is said to come with a 50MP main sensor, while the fold is expected to be equipped with a 48MP primary sensor. The vanilla version is likely to feature a dual rear camera setup with 50MP as the primary sensor.
