Google is gearing up to launch its next Pixel 9 series with advanced AI and camera capabilities on August 13. The upcoming lineup is anticipated to include the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Now, according to Taiwan's NCC certification website, as reported by Android Authority, the camera specifications of all the phones in the series have been tipped.
According to the leak, the standard Pixel 9 like last year’s Pixel 8, will come with a 50MP main Samsung GNK sensor, with the 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor for the ultrawide. It is also expected to come with a 10.5MP Samsung 3J1 sensor. It will also include autofocus support, like last year’s Pixel 8 Pro.
Further, the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are said to use the 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor for their ultrawide, telephoto, and selfie shooters, while retaining the 50MP Samsung JNK sensor for the main. The telephoto cameras of the Pixel 9 Pro phones will reportedly also come with optical image stabilization (OIS) support.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also expected to come with similar cameras to last year’s Pixel Fold, as according to the report it will have a 48MP Sony IMX787 primary rear sensor and a 10.5MP OIS-supported Samsung 3J1 telephoto shooter. However, we might see some downgrades in the ultrawide, selfie, and cover display cameras, as the foldable should come with 12MP Samsung 3LU ultrawide and 10MP Samsung 3K1 lenses for both the inner and outer selfie cameras.
Google has confirmed that the Pixel 9 series will launch in India as well, with the launch date set for August 14. The company is also set to unveil the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in the country.
