Google announces Gemini Flash, Flash Lite and Pro: All the details

Google has just rolled out some exciting updates for its Gemini 2.0 AI models. The new updates include Gemini 2.0 Flash, Flash-Lite, and Pro, each designed to meet different needs.

Gemini 2.0 Flash is now available to everyone. It offers better performance, higher rate limits, and simpler pricing, as per the Google blog. The new Flash-Lite model, which is currently in public preview, is designed to be the most cost-effective version out of the three models announced.

It’s perfect for large-scale text output tasks without breaking the bank. Lastly, there’s the Gemini 2.0 Pro model, an experimental version that’s ideal for handling more complex tasks like coding or processing complicated prompts.

These updates come with some new features. Flash now supports a huge 1 million token context window, which helps it process longer inputs. It can also handle multimodal input (like text, images, and audio), although image and audio output will be available soon. Flash-Lite is designed to be cost-optimized, so it’s a great option if you want to scale up without worrying about high costs.
