OpenAI has made its most affordable paid susbcription -- Go -- free for all users for 1 year. The Rs 399 plan is available for free and the next plan is ChatGPT Plus and it costs Rs 1,999 which is a big amount to pay for an AI Chatbot subcription. However, it also brings a lot of add-ons to the table compared to the original Free and Go subscriptions. The question here is where you should be buying the Plus membership or the Go is just good enough for you.

What ChatGPT Go offers
ChatGPT Go gives users extended access to GPT-5, OpenAI’s flagship model, but with daily usage limits. The free plan includes image generation, file uploads, and advanced data analysis, letting users create visuals, analyse spreadsheets, and handle complex queries in a single chat.

However, some limitations apply. Access is region-restricted and feature availability may vary by account. The Go plan also has lower message caps, slower response times during peak hours, and no access to deeper customization or memory expansion tools.
In short, ChatGPT Go is powerful enough for most users who want to explore GPT-5, write content, generate ideas, or use light productivity tools — all without paying a rupee.

What ChatGPT Plus adds
The ChatGPT Plus subscription, priced at $20 (around Rs 1,650) per month, unlocks the full potential of GPT-5 with advanced reasoning, expanded messaging and uploads, and faster image creation. It also enables deep research mode, expanded memory, and context retention, which make it ideal for long-term projects.
Plus users also get access to custom GPTs, projects, task automation, and limited access to Sora 1 video generation. Developers can use the Codex agent for coding and automation tasks, features not available in the free plan.
