Bluesky has now informed its users about the situation. A post on the "Bluesky Safety" account mentions: “In the past 24 hours, we have received more than 42,000 reports (an all-time high for one day). We’re receiving about 3,000 reports/hour. To put that into context, in all of 2023, we received 360k reports.”

The social media platform has also mentioned that it is triaging the flood of content so that categories such as child abuse media could be removed sooner. Further, with this significant influx of users and increased spam, scam, and trolling activity, Bluesky has assured that their team is reviewing these accounts, and users can also report such activities from bot or spam accounts by clicking the three-dot menu on each post/account.
