Autodesk has announced the expansion of its regional offerings to India, enabling businesses and public sector organizations to store project data within the country. The move aligns with the Indian government’s Viksit Bharat vision and strengthens Autodesk’s commitment to supporting local infrastructure development and digital innovation.

With this update, Indian customers using Autodesk Docs, BIM Collaborate, and BIM Collaborate Pro can now select India as their primary data storage location. This development is particularly significant for sectors with strict data regulations—such as government, infrastructure, and utilities—as it provides greater control, compliance, and trust in cloud collaboration tools.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns around data privacy and trust in digital tools. According to Autodesk’s 2025 State of Design & Make report, while digital transformation is driving measurable returns in productivity and customer satisfaction across the AECO (architecture, engineering, construction, and operations) industries, 37% of Indian organizations cite data security concerns as a barrier. The India-based regional storage offering directly addresses this issue, giving organizations a more secure and reliable way to manage project data.

Kamolika Peres Gupta, Vice President, India and SAARC at Autodesk, said, “India is at a key point in its digital journey. As infrastructure and innovation converge, enabling localized data storage helps build trust and drive collaboration. This offering will support both public and private organizations in leveraging cloud-powered design and construction while meeting high standards of performance and data integrity.”
