Asus has officially confirmed the launch date for its next-generation ROG Strix gaming laptops, which are expected to debut with Nvidia’s RTX 5000 series mobile GPUs, including the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.

Taiwan-based consumer electronics brand Asus has teased its upcoming ROG gaming laptop series release date on social media platform X. According to the announcement, Asus will reveal its upcoming ROG Strix laptops on January 6 at 8 PM Pacific Time (9:30 IST) during the pre-event media briefing for CES 2025. Asus has also launched a microsite with a countdown to the official reveal of these next-gen laptops.

Nvidia is expected to unveil the RTX 5000 series mobile and desktop graphic cards soon, and the upcoming ROG Strix laptops will likely launch with RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 GPUs at first. Both of these GPUs promise substantial performance improvements over previous generations’ graphics and will be built on Blackwell architecture.

These next-gen graphic cards are also tipped to deliver enhancements in ray tracing performance, AI-based upscaling, and better power efficiency. Nvidia is also expected to unveil the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 mobile and desktop GPUS later in 2025, solidifying the RTX 5000 series as a leap forward in gaming and creative workloads.
