Apple Watch Ultra 3 tipped to launch with these two key features

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected arrive in just over two months. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming Ultra model is expected to introduce satellite connectivity, allowing users to send text messages even when both cellular and Wi-Fi coverage are unavailable. Notably, this feature will work independently of an iPhone, making the Ultra 3 Apple’s most self-reliant wearable yet.

Another key addition could be 5G support, but in a smartwatch-specific form. While current Apple Watch Ultra models support LTE, the Ultra 3 is expected to bring faster, more efficient connectivity that could improve performance and reliability in edge scenarios.

Beyond connectivity, Apple is expected to refine the hardware across the board. Likely additions include a new S10 processor or better, faster charging, and a wide-angle OLED display with enhanced brightness from more viewing angles and a smoother refresh rate — particularly useful for the always-on display. These features already debuted in the Apple Watch Series 10, so it makes sense for them to carry over to the Ultra line.

It’s still unclear whether Apple will include the long-rumoured blood pressure monitoring system. Gurman previously reported that the feature is facing technical delays and may not be ready in time for the Ultra 3’s release.
