Apple rolls out iOS 18.3 update with these new features

Apple has officially rolled out iOS 18.3 update for iPhones, bringing a host of new features and improvements to iPhone users. One of the most notable changes in iOS 18.3 is the automatic enabling of Apple Intelligence on compatible devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs with M-series chips.

Earlier, this feature was an opt-in option but is now turned on by default. “For users new or upgrading to iOS 18.3, Apple Intelligence will be enabled automatically during iPhone onboarding. Users will have access to Apple Intelligence features after setting up their devices,” Apple said in the release notes.

The biggest change comes to Apple Intelligence. Apple Intelligence Notification summary feature has faced criticism for generating misleading information. In response, Apple has temporarily disabled notification summaries for news and entertainment apps until further improvements are made.

To address user concerns, iOS 18.3 introduces italicised text for AI-generated summaries, making it easier to distinguish them from standard notifications. Furthermore, users can now manage notification summaries directly from their lock screens, providing greater control over their notification settings.
