Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, recently shared ambitious plans for the role of artificial intelligence within the company. On a podcast with Joe Rogan, Zuckerberg said that by 2025, the Meta CEO said that he could see AI evolving to the point where it can function as mid-level engineers, capable of writing code independently.

"Probably in 2025, we at Meta, as well as the other companies that are basically working on this, are going to have an AI that can effectively be a sort of midlevel engineer that you have at your company that can write code,” he said.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that getting AI to write code would initially require substantial investment. However, he expressed confidence that Meta would reach a stage where all code within its applications, as well as the AI-generated code, would be produced by AI.

Last year, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had also revealed that at Google AI is being used extensively to improve its coding processes.“We're also using AI internally to improve our coding processes, which is boosting productivity and efficiency,” Pichai said.
