Adobe Photoshop is one of the most popular photo editing tools used globally by creative artists. However, the app currently has a big limitation where you can’t collaborate and work seamlessly with another Photoshop user to edit an image or a document. Adobe only allows a single user to invite others to edit an image, and the saved changes will be synced to the transferor, but you have to wait your turn if that user is using the file you want to edit.

Thankfully, Adobe has now announced the Live Co-Editing feature, which enables multiple people to collaborate on the same file simultaneously. The company says that the feature has been inspired by community input, and it is an excellent option for visual arts education as well as professional image-making companies with multiple artists to collaborate on a single Photoshop document.

This newly announced feature is currently in beta state and will take collaboration to the next level, with direct co-editing of a shared image. After you click on the Share button, the resulting panel now shows a ‘Turn on Live co-editing’ button. Like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, the available collaborators appear in badges at the top of the document, and a name marker will appear where the collaborator is simultaneously editing the file.
