Paris Olympics, India's results on Day 3: Manika Batra gave India a perfect ending in what more was a disappointing day from an Indian perspective at the Paris Olympics. The usual suspects Manu Bhaker, Lakshya Sen, and Batra appeared in good shape but others, especially the men archery team, and the women's doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa disappointed the most. Adding more misery was Indian men's hockey team's shoddy display, who had to wait 59 minutes to find a goal against Argentina in the Pool B encounter. Apart from them, Arjun Babuta came tantalisingly close to an Olympic bronze but had to be content with a fouth-place finish in the 10m air rifle men's final.

Ramita Jindal, too, competing in the final of the 10m air rifle in the women's category failed to add to India's medal tally. However, Day 4 may see India add one more medal as Manu along with Sarabjot Singh will be in action against the South Koreans in the bronze medal match of the 10m air pistol mixed event.
