Pakistan began their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign against South Africa on an impressive note, piling 313/5 at Stumps on Day 1 of the first Test in Lahore. Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq and skipper Shan Masood held fort as the pair added a staggering 161 runs for the second wicket. The partnership was brought to an end by Prenelan Subrayen, who trapped the Pakistan skipper LBW for 76(147).

The dismissal saw the introduction of Pakistan's premier batter Babar Azam in the contest. Babar managed 23(48) before getting out LBW against Simon Harmer. However, during the course of his stay in the middle, Babar was exposed to a taunt by former Pakistan cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja, which has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place in the 49th over bowled by Senuran Muthusamy as Babar was given out by the on-field umpire. However, he decided to challenge the umpire's decision by opting for a DRS, which turned out to be successful.

Ramiz on commentary was heard saying: “Yeh out hain, drama karega (This is out; now he will be doing drama)".
