India's ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer got seriously hurt during the third ODI against Australia but is now on his way to a gradual recovery. The mishap happened when Iyer trying to catch the ball at backward point, but he fell on his rib cage in an awkward way, so he had to be taken to the hospital immediately.

Speaking to the media ahead of the first T20I against Australia in Canberra, Suryakumar confirmed that Iyer is “stable and out of danger.” He added that the 29-year-old has been communicating with teammates and is in good spirits.
