Suryakumar Yadav's mother kept Shreyas Iyer in her prayers while performing Chhath Puja. The touching gesture was shared by Suryakumar's sister Dinal on Instagram, which quickly went viral on social media.
Iyer has been hospitalised in Sydney after sustaining an injury on his rib while fielding in the third ODI between India and Australia. The incident occurred when Iyer put his body on the line to help the team with a wicket at a crucial point in the contest. Positioned at backward point, Iyer ran backwards and plunged into a dive to grab a top edge by Alex Carey off Harshit Rana's bowling.

While Iyer was successful in completing the catch, the effort left him in grimace; vivid from his expression while he was leaving the field along with the support staff.
Soon it was reported that the star batter was rushed to the hospital and BCCI confirmed that Iyer "sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding." As Iyer is on the road to recovery, the video has created quite a buzz among fans.

“Mai ye bolna chahti hu ki, Shreyas Iyer ke liye pray kijiye sab log ki vo bahut ache se aa jaye. Kyuki maine kal suna ki uski tabiyat nahi theek hai, mujhe bilkul acha nahi laga (I urge you all to pray for Shreyas Iyer and he returns to India safely. It pained me when I heard that his health is not at all good)," Suryakumar's mother was heard saying in the video.
The latest injury setback for Iyer puts his participation in South Africa ODIs, starting from November 30 at home, in doubt.
