India Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected for TIME magazine's esteemed 'TIME100 Next' list, which honors up-and-coming world leaders in a variety of professions. Jaiswal took to social media to express his excitement.

"What a Time to witness! I am honoured to be recognised in the 2025 #TIME100NEXT list alongside leaders shaping the future across industries. It reminds me how far I've come and how much further I want to go," the left-handed batter posted on X.

Jaiswal topped the list of "The Best 40 Young Players in the World" published by Wisden Cricket Monthly in August. Based on their present accomplishments and potential in all forms, players 23 years of age or younger were assessed for the list by international cricket writers.

The top-ranked cricketer was Jaiswal, who is only 23 years old, and has become the mainstay of the Indian Test team, amassing 2,209 runs at an average of 50.20 in 24 Test matches and 46 innings, including six hundreds and 12 fifties.

His aggressive T20I game and strike rate of above 164 indicate that he is on par with a white-ball hitter. With a century and five fifties in 23 Twenty20 Internationals, he has amassed 723 runs at an average of 36.15. Although he has only participated in one ODI and scored 15 runs, his List-A average of 52.62 has many eagerly awaiting his ascent in ODIs after opener Rohit Sharma hangs up his boots.
