Assessing the Risk

Among these, Asteroid 2025 CJ3 will come closest, passing at a distance of about 1,460,000 miles. Despite this proximity, NASA confirms that none of these asteroids are classified as potentially hazardous. Their trajectories do not pose a direct threat to our planet.

NASA's Ongoing Monitoring Efforts

NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) continuously monitors NEOs to assess potential risks. The agency utilises data from telescopes like NEOWISE and Pan-STARRS to track these objects. This vigilance is crucial for planetary defence strategies.

While these upcoming flybys are harmless, they highlight the dynamic nature of space and the need for ongoing observation. NASA remains committed to advancing its planetary defence initiatives to safeguard Earth from potential celestial threats.
