Vaishakha Purnima, also known as Gautam Buddha's birth anniversary, falls on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024. Vaishakha Purnima is the second Purnima in the year according to Hindu lunar calendar and it comes just after Narasimha Jayanti.

Vaishakha Purnima Significance

On this day, devotees perform the Satyanarayan Vrat, offer worship to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna at temples, partake in a sacred bath in the Ganga River, and seek blessings from Chandra Dev at holy sites and along the Ganga Ghats. It is a day dedicated to presenting prayers and conducting puja ceremonies with great devotion and zeal.
