Ayodhya, the holy city of Shri Ram, is all set to witness another significant milestone in the construction of the Ram Mandir. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has begun preparations for the next phase of the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremonies, where seven new idols will be consecrated, and elaborate Vedic rituals will be performed to infuse divine energy into the temple.
Following the successful installation of the Navagraha idols, the temple is now preparing for the sacred rituals of Aushadhivas (sanctifying with herbs) and Shayadhivas (ceremonial resting). These are key stages of the consecration process, where Vedic mantras are chanted for peace, nourishment, and divine presence.
The idol of Ram Darbar, featuring Shri Ram along with Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan, and Hanuman, will be installed on the first floor of the temple. This sacred ensemble represents the spiritual heart of the temple. Along the boundary walls of the temple, six additional temples have been built. These will house the idols of:
- Surya Dev
- Lord Ganesh
- Hanuman Ji
- Lord Shiva (Bholenath)
- Mata Bhagwati
- Mata Annapurna
The consecration ceremony for these temples will take place on June 5, 2025, and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is expected to attend. In the newly constructed Sapta Mandapam, seven idols have been installed, commemorating saints and devotees closely associated with Ramayan lore. These include:
- Maharishi Valmiki
- Maharishi Vishwamitra
- Maharishi Agastya
- Maharishi Vashishta
- Nishad Raj
- Ahilya
- Shabari
These figures have deep spiritual relevance and reflect the inclusive values of Shri Ram’s journey. Renowned acharyas and Vedic scholars from across India are conducting the rituals under the guidance of the Ram Mandir Trust. The ceremonies include Agnihotra, special yajnas, Panchgavya rituals, and continuous chanting of Vedic hymns, aimed at sanctifying the idols and energizing the temple complex.
The consecration process will follow specific Vedic methods for each idol, enhancing the spiritual vibration of the temple. The rituals of Pran Pratishtha are considered the soul-infusing ceremonies that bring the divine presence into the murtis (idols), making the temple a spiritually active place of worship. This upcoming phase of idol installations marks another historic moment for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. With sacred traditions, devotional grandeur, and deep cultural roots, Ayodhya is set to resonate once again with spiritual fervour and divine celebrations.
