History
Established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972, World Environment Day serves as a platform to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues and encourage global action. The first one was a conference held in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972 where pressing matters were debated and discussed. Since then, from 1973, and the tradition has continued on the same date.
