Mumbai on Monday faced intense heat, with temperatures reaching 37.2°C, nearly five degrees above the seasonal average.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Santacruz recorded 37.2°C, exceeding the usual range by 4.8°C, while Colaba registered 36.4°C, 5.3°C higher than the typical temperature.

Mumbai also saw an increase in minimum temperatures, with Colaba registering 23.7°C and Santacruz at 21.6°C during the early morning hours.

The IMD had originally issued a heatwave warning for Tuesday but later lifted it. However, a yellow alert for "hot and humid" conditions is still in place, as temperatures are expected to remain around 37°C before gradually decreasing later in the week.
