Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi, played a key role in the country’s independence movement from British colonial rule. He is also referred to as the “Father of the Nation”. With his commitment to the freedom of the country, Gandhi inspired millions of people, not just in India but worldwide.
