A Swiggy customer in Hyderabad has allegedly found a bone in a plate of paneer biryani ordered from Mehfil, a popular franchise in the city. The X user, Avinash (@Avinashtime), was responding to a complaint by another user Sai Teja who found a maggot in chicken biryani ordered from a different outlet of the same franchise.

"I have ordered a paneer biryani from Mehfil, Nizampet Kukatpally. I got a bone in it," Avinash said, sharing a picture of the meal.

Responding to the post, a customer care executive from Swiggy wrote, "Hi there, we're very sorry to hear you received a non-veg item in your vegetarian order. Please share the order ID so we may to pull up the details and assist you better."

In the related incident, X user and fellow Hyderabad resident Sai Teja said he found a bug in his chicken biryani which was ordered via Swiggy. Sharing the pictures of the food with what appears to be a maggot, Sai Teja said he had paid Rs 318 for the biryani and despite raising the issue with Swiggy, he was given a refund of only Rs 64.

The incident happened last Saturday. "Please stop ordering from Mehfil Kukatpally," Teja wrote on X and shared screenshots of his conversation with a Swiggy customer care executive who clarified that packaging of the food is handled solely by the restaurants.
