Ogilvy bags the most number of Abbies every year, but the Goa Fest shys away from naming the agency of the year: Get ready for our Goa Fest special. This is the Indian advertising and marketing industry's biggest and most prestigious platform jointly hosted by the AAA (Advertising Agencies Association Of India) and the Bombay Ad Club. This year a record number of Abbies were awarded and leaks, controversies and petty rivalries were kept at bay. The big winner was Ogilvy which bagged the most number of Abbys and continued to dominate the awards. But Creativeland Asia won the coveted Integrated Grand Prix for its campaign for German car-maker Audi. Animesh Das reports on the winners and asks the question every one wants answered: Why the Goa Fest is jittery about giving out the agency of the year award. The big ideas and exciting people that caught our eye: Though the awards are the main draw at the Goa Fest, the three days are also a chance for people looking for inspiration and fresh ideas. Here's what caught our eye in Goa - from Google that went all out to woo the ad world, to Erik Vervegoen, one of Coca Cola's most talented creative directors who used the opportunity to catch up with agencies that are not on the cola giant's roster. Here's what we noticed in Goa this year.And why the ad industry is gung ho even though India is losing its sheen: A record 3,000 people made it to Goa last week and there was a lot of celebration. Animesh Das tried to sober things down by asking how the ad industry is assessing the impact of India's slowing down and the world's opinion of the country losing its sheen.
