One of the most heart-warming stories in Indian cricket in the past 12 months has been the rise of Rinku Singh, who has become a key part of India's T20I squad and has played for the Men in Blue in both home and away bilateral series.
The 26-year-old shot to fame last year when he smashed left-arm seamer Yash Dayal for five sixes in one over to help the Kolkata Knight Riders clinch a stunning win over the Gujarat Titans.
However, even as Rinku's stocks in Indian cricket are on an upward curve, his father Khanchandra Singh was caught on camera, going about his daily routine of delivering LPG cylinders at a home in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district.
The video, which went viral, saw a lot of user comments, some of whom praised the cricketer's father for going about his life normally despite his son's rise to fame.
"This is his foundation and will keep him in better physical and mental health. It's hard to stop if he doesn't want to despite the wealth," one user wrote.
"Learning -Never feel shy about your profession. That's Rinku Singh's father," another user wrote.
"He is here representing whole working class family, specifically middle and lower middle class parents," a third user wrote.
Singh was part of the Indian squad that defeated Afghanistan 3-0 in the T20I series, earlier this month.
