In the fast-paced world of quick commerce, competition between delivery giants Blinkit and BigBasket took an unexpected, light-hearted turn on social media today. A tweet that suggested a "war" between the two companies over delivering the iPhone 16 in under 10 minutes sparked a playful exchange between the two CEOs, dispelling any notion of rivalry.
The original tweet, highlighting the competition, stated: “Quick commerce wars: BigBasket vs Blinkit competing on iPhone 16 deliveries in less than 10 mins. A decade ago, BigBasket and then Grofers had just started competing in the grocery delivery market.”
This caught the attention of Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, who responded by tweeting a friendly picture with BigBasket CEO Hari Menon. Dhindsa captioned the photo with a playful remark: “What war? cc @harimenon_bb”.
Menon quickly followed up with his own selfie alongside Dhindsa, adding: “No war! Great friends forever @albinder.”
The public display of camaraderie between the two industry leaders quickly gained traction online, with one user commenting, “What a wholesome thread!” Another chimed in with: “BhaiChaara On Top.”
Both companies have fiercely vied for market share in India's highly competitive quick-commerce landscape with Zepto being the new entrant - even they are delivering iPhone 16’s in 10 minutes.
