Scientists utilising NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have uncovered an unexpected cosmic cocktail: the ingredients for a margarita, lurking amidst the celestial expanse. This discovery hints at the potential for habitable worlds beyond our own.

The Webb Mission Team, spearheading this research, posed a curious question: "What do margaritas, vinegar, and ant stings have in common?" The answer lies in the chemical components identified by JWST enveloping two budding protostars, designated as IRAS 2A and IRAS 23385.

Employing JWST's Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI), an international cadre of astronomers uncovered a medley of icy compounds, including complex organic molecules such as ethanol (alcohol) and presumably acetic acid, a fundamental element in vinegar.

Despite the absence of planets in the nascent stages around these stars, these molecular findings are regarded as pivotal building blocks for potentially habitable realms.
