A student from Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, may as well turn out to be one of the toppers in Mumbai University in his subject after he managed a final score of 71.75 percent- despite being marked absent in all four subjects in sixth and final semesters.
The score is considered to be high for law students in the University.
Lakhs of students suffered this year after Mumbai University’s implementation of online assessment led to huge delays in results coming out.
Students whose answer sheets could not be traced were marked absent in those subjects even as University kept the results in reverse.
Around 3,700 answer sheets which went missing from the system were finally given average marks based on the scores in the rest of the subjects.
As per a report by The Times of India, Bhankuria after several rounds, finally managed to get his mark sheet a day before Diwali.
Bhankuria’s aggregate score in the fifth and sixth semesters was 70.12 percent, a high score as per the standards in the University.
While most students were marked ‘AA’ (absent) in one or two subjects, Bhankuria, despite being the topper was marked absent in all four.
Even after pending results were announced after a five-month delay, the trouble is not over for students as those who want to go for re-evaluation have to wait for another two to three weeks.
The number of applications for re-evaluation stands at around 50,000.
