Lakhs of students from India apply to prestigious foreign universities every year in hopes of securing admissions and earning degrees that have recognition everywhere. Some secure admissions and realise their dreams, others face rejection. Something similar happened with a man named Amal Sony. He got a rejection letter from California's top university, Stanford, and posted it on X with a motivational thought.

Sony shared a picture of the letter that he received from Stanford. “I am very sorry to let you know we are unable to offer you admission to Stanford. This decision in no way diminishes your application, which we know was completed with thoughtfulness and care,” the letter read.

“We were inspired by the hopes and dreams your application represents. We were humbled by the talent, commitment, and heart you bring to your academics, extracurricular activities, work, and family responsibilities. Simply put, we wish we had more space in the first-year class.”

“I got rejected from @stanford today. I’m still going to change the world though,” Sony wrote while sharing the post.

The post has amassed over 8 lakh views since being shared online. Social media users boosted Sony’s morale and hailed his spirit in the comments section.
