A customer’s unconventional McDonald’s order for a burger “with everything removed” resulted in a delivery that was as literal as it gets: an empty box.

Greg, the Doordash customer in the US behind the viral prank, detailed his experiment on X, where his post garnered a staggering 53 million views.

“I ordered a triple cheeseburger with everything removed,” Greg wrote, alongside a screenshot of his order, which amusingly listed “no ketchup,” “no pickle,” “no diced onions,” “no 1/10 Lb beef,” “no mustard,” “no regular bun,” “no American Cheese,” and “no salt.” The total cost of this nothing burger? $5.39.

As anticipation built, Greg shared a follow-up post joking, “Hopefully they don’t mess up my order (usually they do).” The anticipation peaked when his delivery driver, Dan, sent a message confirming the odd order. “You’re gonna get an empty box…you good with that?” Dan asked. Greg's response was simple, “Perfect, thank you.”
True to their word, McDonald’s delivered exactly what was ordered: a burger box containing nothing. A photo shared by Greg showed an open McCrispy box, empty except for the air inside. Despite the precise execution of the order, Greg couldn’t resist pointing out a minor flaw: “Somehow they still managed to screw up my order,” he quipped, referring to the wrong box type - a McCrispy instead of a triple cheeseburger, rating McDonald's two out of five stars on DoorDash.

However, Greg’s humour remained intact. He rewarded Dan with a five-star review and a generous $11 tip, pushing the total cost of the empty meal close to $20. This act led one X user to comment, “This is hilarious! Thank you for the laugh.” Another user said, “20 USD for an empty box. Crazy!!!”
