The world celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday as many leading personalities took to social media to share childhood photos with their mothers and wished others on the occasion.
Among those who posted on social media was Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Himanshu Tyagi, who said that his mother was his biggest inspiration and shared the five lessons he learnt from her.
"Educated only till 8th grade, married at 16. Took on family responsibilities early; survived patriarchy. An ardent Krisha devotee. Life of sacrifices. She is my biggest inspiration," Tyagi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
The first lesson that he learnt from his mother was to not give up and to always put in your best efforts.
The second lesson was live a life of good character and chase good values, spirituality and goodness.
The third lesson was how to let time pass during a trough and understand that nothing was constant in the world.
The fourth lesson that he learnt was to not waste any time arguing and not to waste any time in proving oneself with words.
The fifth lesson that he learnt from his mother was to not follow the society and do what was right for you, even if it meant it was against the societal traditions.
The officer's thread saw a lot of responses, many of whom praised him for the lessons he had learnt from his mother.
"You have good observation skills. Very inspiring," one user wrote.
"Very impressive sir," another user wrote.
