What happens when two giants of the entertainment world collide; you get “Fortnite Endgame” or “Fortnite Avengers”. Whatever you call it, Avengers: Endgame is coming to the world’s most popular battle royale.
Developer Epic recently teased a crossover event between the two pop culture giants. Although Epic hasn’t confirmed any details about the new changes coming to this much-anticipated update, the company has provided an official release date for the Avengers: Endgame event. The latest teaser confirms that the Avenger’s event will arrive with Fortnite's 8.5 update on April 25.
This isn’t the first time the popular battle royale is doing an Avengers event. Last year, Fortnite ran an Avengers: Infinity War event featuring Thanos. The event tasked players with locating the Infinity Gauntlet and all Infinity Stones, after which a player would turn into the Mad Titan and gain a significant boost in power over opponents. While there’s always a possibility of getting a new ‘limited time mode’, recent teasers suggest it might be more than just a gauntlet coming.
Fortnite has been dropping small hints about the upcoming event through several tweets with the famous quote from Endgame's trailer, "Whatever it takes".
From the recent tweets, it stands to reason that Fortnite will bring the Avengers' weapons to the event including Captain America's Vibranium Shield and Thor's Stormbreaker Axe. We can hope Epic will drop some cool superhero skins as well.
While Fortnite's Avengers: Infinity War event only lasted for a week, it will be interesting to see how long the upcoming Endgame event runs for and what new content it will bring to the fold. In addition to the forthcoming event, Fortnite's map is also undergoing several changes. Then, there's the upcoming Fortnite World Cup in July with a mega prize pool of $30 million.
