Fact-check: Is the viral garba video from Axis Bank? Team clarifies

A video of employees doing garba at their workplace is doing the rounds of the internet. According to the people who shared the clip, the clip was recorded at Axis Bank's Fort branch in Mumbai. However, the bank issued a clarification for the same.

There are numerous videos on the internet showing people doing garba and enjoying themselves during the festive season. Amid that, another clip showing employees doing garba at an office is doing the rounds of the internet. The video, shared by a user named Rita Singhal on X (formerly Twitter), featured several employees happily doing the traditional Gujarati dance.

According to Singhal and other people who shared the video, the footage was captured at Axis Bank’s Fort branch in Mumbai. In the clip, a number of employees were seen doing the garba while a Gujarati folk song played in the background.

The video went viral and triggered an array of reactions from social media users. However, it also caught the attention of Axis Bank and the team shared a statement saying that the clip was not from its Fort branch. The bank also requested people to not circulate the video while associating it with Axis.

“Hi, Please note that the referred video does not pertain to Axis Bank’s Fort branch. We request you to not to circulate this video while associating it with Axis Bank. Regards, Team Axis Bank,” the statement read.
