Between 2000 and 2006, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos reviewed six products on his own e-commerce platform. One of his reviews has now resurfaced on social media, amusing -- among others -- fellow billionaire Elon Musk.
The review in question dates back to 2006, when Jeff Bezos left sparkling feedback for a bottle of milk. A bottle of Tuscan Dairy Whole Vitamin D Milk, to be more precise. It would be his last, and perhaps his funniest, review on the e-commerce platform.
“I love milk so much that I've been drinking it since the day I was born. I don't think it was Tuscan though,” Bezos wrote on Amazon.
A screenshot of his product review was shared on the microblogging platform X, where it caught the attention of Elon Musk. Musk responded to the post with a laughing face emoji, summing up the amusement that hundreds others felt after reading the review.
Jeff Bezos’s reviews were first unearthed by Inc. Magazine in 2021. An Amazon spokesperson at the time confirmed the profile used to share the reviews actually belonged to Bezos and the reviews are his. Bezos reviews a couple of non-fiction books, a pair of binoculars, and a DVD of ‘Life is Beautiful’. The Italian film he praised as “very uplifting.”
All the products he reviewed received a five-star rating from Bezos.
“If you've read Bezos's shareholder letters, and seen his interviews, his style will be familiar,” Inc. contributing editor Bill Murphy Jr noted.
