US racist attack, visa curbs worry parents in AP, Telangana

Parents in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with children in the US are a worried a lot over fears of hate crimes and proposed visa reforms. Last week, 32-year-old Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an employee of GPS-maker Garmin, was killed at a bar in Kansas City after he was shot by a navy veteran yelling “get out of my country” and “terrorist”. US President Donald Trump condemned the shooting on Wednesday.However, the Trump administration's proposal to impose curbs on H1B visas would restrict the entry of Indian engineers to the US, the majority of which hail from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, has also caused a flutter.Parents are worried about the financial burden of loans that they will have to face should their children return to India.
