Gujarat panel to chalk out plan for clearing pending cases

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said a joint committee comprising government officials and High Court judges will be formed in the near future to chalk out a plan for clearing pending court cases in which Gujarat government is a litigant.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said a joint committee comprising government officials and High Court judges will be formed in the near future to chalk out a plan for clearing pending court cases in which Gujarat government is a litigant.

Rupani made the announcement in the presence of Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court R Subhash Reddy during the inauguration of district and sessions court building in Khambhalia town of Devbhoomi-Dwarka district today, an official release said.

Rupani stressed that his government is keen to work with the judiciary to clear pending cases by forming a joint committee. Rupani said the state government is a litigant in almost 70 per cent cases which are pending in various courts across the state.

Rupani also said the joint committee having officials and judges would chalk out a formula for quicker disposal of pending cases.
