Early this morning the government swooped down on Anna Hazare and his team, detaining and arresting them before they could even start their protest. The home minister said this was to prevent what the police considered a cognizable offence. Is that a credible explanation or is it a thin excuse for an intolerant act, which denies team Anna the democratic right to peacefully protest.
