A trial court in Delhi will on Thursday pronounce its order on a petition filed by Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy in the 2G scam case. Swamy is demanding that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram be made a co-accused in the 2G scam case.

Special CBI judge OP Saini had reserved orders on Swamy's plea that senior CBI officials and then finance ministry officials be examined to prove his case against Chidamabarm. Swamy had alleged that Chidambaram and former Telecom Minister A Raja acted together in fixing 2G. Chidambaram, as the then Finance Minister, had permitted Swan Telecom and Unitech, who had secured the licences, to sell their shares to foreign companies, he claimed. To prove this allegation Swamy wants to examine then finance ministry officials. He had alleged that Chidambaram had written two letters, one to the Prime Minister and other to Raja, on the fixation of spectrum price. Swamy had said even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that Chidambaram and Raja had decided on the spectrum price. Swamy had said the documents, which he had received from the CBI after the court's order, 'shows in great detail' as far as spectrum pricing was concerned that it was jointly taken by Raja and Chidambaram. The Janata Party chief had said Chidambaram "failed to protect national security" by not informing the authorities that Etisalat and Telenor were "genuine" companies. Swamy has also alleged that CBI was deliberately overlooking Chidambaram's role in the 2G scam and therefore he be allowed to examine senior CBI officials as well. Swamy belives that if these officials are examined he will be able to prove his case that Raja and Chidambaram were together in the 2G conspiracy.
