A Chennai resident has emerged as one of Instamart’s most unusual power users of the year, placing 228 separate condom orders totalling Rs 1,06,398 in 2025, according to the platform’s annual insights report How India Instamarted 2025. Last year, the top spender on condoms hailed from Bengaluru.

The Chennai user’s 228 orders — averaging almost one purchase every 1.5 days — stand out as one of the most frequent repeat‑purchase patterns recorded by Instamart. The report also noted that 1 in every 127 Instamart orders contained condoms and that September saw a 24 percent jump in condom purchases, one of the steepest monthly spikes.

The report analysed millions of orders placed between January and November across 128+ cities and highlighted the striking spike in discreet, health‑linked purchases on quick‑commerce platforms this year.

India’s quick-commerce evolution in 2025
The condom‑ordering trend forms part of a much larger story. The Instamart report shows India’s quick‑commerce behaviour has matured significantly: gold worth Rs 15.16 lakh was bought by a Mumbai user, a Hyderabad resident checked out a Rs 4.3‑lakh iPhone cart in one go, and Bengaluru topped national tipping charts with a local user dropping Rs 68,600 in delivery tips.
