'Bangalore will collapse soon because of this': Techie recalls 'language issue' at Diljit Dosanjh concert

A software engineer from Bengaluru has shared that she was harassed by a woman during the Diljit Dosanjh concert on Friday over speaking in Kannada. Tanisha Sabherwal said the confrontation left her feeling pathetic about the entire event.

"I never thought I’ll be saying this, after having lived for so long but BANGALORE WILL COLLAPSE soon because of this language issue," the software engineer wrote on X, adding that it started when the woman tried to push her way through the crowd.

"A girl, triple my size, wanted to go ahead. I had a strong stance and then she starts to push me. Which is okay, happens in concerts. When I politely ask her to back off, all I get is classic ‘speak in Kannada’ and a whole lot of ‘F***’. To this, a friend (male) came to back me. Things accelerated, she took out her phone, and started aggressively saying all the castist things. We started recording too. Next you know she held my friend's hand and twisted it, which was thankfully on video too."

Sabherwal said that the people surrounding them were supportive and had asked the other woman not to create a scene. But the woman left the spot only to return with a police officer and accused Sabherwal's friend of teasing her. When Sabherwal and her friend showed the video to the policeman, they were asked to delete it but they resisted. The police officer left soon after but things did not end there.
