Ericsson has begun exporting passive telecom antennas made in India through its Manesar-based contract manufacturer VVDN, marking a step toward positioning the country as a global hub for production and engineering.

The first India-made antenna for international markets was unveiled today, with commercial rollout slated for June and exports starting in July.

The announcement was made at an event attended by Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Ericsson said the antenna was developed through a year-long effort to build out a local ecosystem involving component manufacturing, sourcing, and engineering.
