The United States Congress is reportedly limiting the use of AI Chatbots like ChatGPT among its staff.
Web publication Axios has managed to get its hands on a memo written by House of Representatives administrative head Catherine Szpindor that sets restrictions on the use of AI chatbots among Congress staff.

According to the memo, staff are only allowed to use ChatGPT Plus, which is a paid version of the chatbot that comes with options to limit data collection. They are also not allowed to use the AI for daily work.
Staff will be allowed to use the chatbot only for "research and evaluation", and the memo makes it clear that no sensitive data should be shared with the AI.
Szpindor told the staff to enable privacy settings, which are turned off by default and to "ensure that your history is not preserved and your interactions are not incorporated back into the large language model."

As the world rushes to grapple with the rapidly advancing technology, many countries are already forging bonds to set up regulations to control its use.
India and the US recently committed to collaborate and set up frameworks for effective use of the technology. India is also working on a Digital India Bill that will seek to put in place safeguards for the safe use of AI chatbots.
