Earlier this year, Twitter introduced its paid subscription service called Twitter Blue. Paid members get benefits such as folders, an option to undo tweets and Reader Mode.
Additional exclusive features are perks, which allow Blue users to use custom app icons for the home screen or colour themes for the interface.
It is currently limited to Canada and Australia and costs $3 a month.
Twitter is expanding the service by introducing Labs, a way to gain access to exclusive experimental features. The company is wording this as "early access" and currently, gives users two new experimental features to use - Pinned conversations on iOS and longer video uploads via desktop.
Pinned conversations for iOS allows you to pin messages in your DMs to the top, by swiping right on the conversations you want to pin. It will stay on top regardless of relevancy or time, or until it is unpinned.
Longer video uploads is an experimental feature that allows you to upload up to 10 minutes of video on Twitter. The catch here is that it is only supported using a desktop for now, so you have to use the feature on the web app. The current limit for normal users is a little more than two minutes.
Twitter says that Labs will take experimental features from internal teams and give them to users to get early data and feedback. Features built for Labs, may also be entirely different by the time they release, some may not get implemented at all.
There is currently no word on availability of Twitter Blue outside of Canada and Australia. Although, Twitter does say that it will gradually roll out to more countries soon.
