Spotify has reportedly been working on a host of new features. According to a new report from The Verge, Spotify could introduce the Music Pro add-on feature that should include long-awaited lossless audio and DJ remix features. Hi-Fi lossless audio streaming has been a part of other music services such as Apple Music. According to recent code snippets discovered in the Spotify for Android app, we could also see it soon in the Spotify Android app.
Spotify’s upcoming Hi-Fi lossless audio streaming feature: Details
Spotify initially announced a 'Spotify HiFi' feature, about three years ago, which was expected to be part of a more expensive 'Supremium' subscription tier. But we may now see it go live through their upcoming Music Pro add-on.
Various code samples, as per The Verge, have indicated that Spotify’s Hi-Fi lossless audio streaming will support up to 24-bit/44.1kHz. In addition to lossless audio, the Music Pro feature may also include DJ remix features to allow users to fine-tune the audio based on their requirements.
Furthermore, according to Reddit user Hypixely, who has been keeping an eye on these codes, Spotify may introduce a headphone optimisation feature that utilises "patented technology" to enhance sound for specific models, with Apple AirPods being mentioned in the code.
Music Pro could also have a new button on the sidebar called “Your Music Pro”. We could also see Advanced Mixing tools, a new playlist that will separate tracks and music based on your mood, preferences, and listening activity.
There’s no word from Spotify when these features will be rolled out to users.
