Nokia's Chennai factory achieves 7 million unit production milestone

Nokia's factory in Chennai has now produced seven million telecom units. The factory located in Sriperumbudur is one of the company's largest factories globally and manufactures infrastructure equipment for 4G and 5G networks in domestic and global markets.

The factory makes 5G New Radio (5G NR), 5G MIMO, 4G/LTE radios and fibre broadband equipment. The factory exports an estimated 50 percent of the production globally.

In a press statement, Nokia said that the "localisation of components has progressively increased by up to two times compared to previous years in 5G equipment manufacturing".
