When a user turned on the phone, the home screen appeared black and the Touch ID/ Home button felt hot. One user tried resetting the phone after holding the home button and lock buttons for 10 seconds to get rid of the issue. However, some of complained of acute battery drainage after the reset. While the overheating problem affects the home button, the phone itself doesn't feel hot.

This is the first hardware-related issue with the new iPhones. Last year, the iPhone 6 was marred by the infamous bendgate when users complained that the phone bent in the back pockets due to pressure.
